Affiliate disclosure

Quiet Picks (referred to below as "the library") does not currently participate in any third-party affiliate programme. After the public launch of the library, we plan to apply, under our registered URL, to:

• Amazon Associates Program (US)
• ShareASale (DTC heritage merchants: Patagonia, Le Creuset, Filson, Allbirds, Snow Peak, etc.)
• Awin (international merchants and craft brands)
• Rakuten Advertising (premium apparel where editorial fit applies)
• Bookshop.org (book links routed to independent bookstores)
• Patagonia and Filson direct affiliate programmes

Editorial independence

Whether to catalogue a product, and where on the shelf to place it, is not influenced by the prospect of future affiliate relationships. Each entry is judged by the three questions of the editorial policy: ten-year lifespan, the three-fold good, and the hundred-year question. Where an affiliate relationship would compromise that judgement, the entry will be withdrawn — and its withdrawal recorded in the log of revisions.

When this changes

Once the library is approved by one or more affiliate programmes, this page and the About — Editorial policy page will be updated to reflect that, and entries containing affiliate links will display a banner naming the specific programmes.
