The arm outlives the screen it holds

The mount section of the Study & workshop shelf. A monitor arm is the rare desk object with no obsolescence clock: VESA 75×75 and 100×100 have carried screens for decades, so one arm holds four successive monitors. That makes its cost per year a fraction of the screen's — and makes the warranty on the gas spring, not the casting, the thing you are actually buying.
